Dr Archeville Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Doesn't Possession make your body disappear?
Heridfel Posted September 11, 2008 Author Posted September 11, 2008 It does, which would explain why she was able to sneak away so easily. Running across an insect or rat would let her effectively disappear. I'm fine with either an insect or rat being around as you went through the prison.
Heridfel Posted September 11, 2008 Author Posted September 11, 2008 You can reappear when you want to. Sooner's better, because the earlier you return, the more chance you have to play... and as a bonus, it might provide Dr. Archeville with a distraction to try to re-engage the controls to the power dampeners that he just found (yep, that's a hint there Dr. A  ).
Dr Archeville Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 nareik? Dryad can reappear now, if you want.
Dr Archeville Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 I'm going to be away from the 'net for most of the weekend, but hopefully that'll give Herid time to post how White Knight & Co. react to Dryad's reappearance.
Heridfel Posted September 24, 2008 Author Posted September 24, 2008 I need a Knowledge (physical sciences) check, and an untrained Knowledge (so Intelligence) check as well. Your Knowledge (technology) roll was enough that you clearly understand how the power dampener controls work, but you need the other checks to determine how Dryad's metahuman powers interacted with your treatment to shut down the system, and based on the other two checks, what you can do there to counteract the effects. There are elements of physical sciences, life sciences, technology, and a little arcane lore in there, which is why it's an Intelligence check.
Dr Archeville Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Gotcha. Knowledge (physical sciences) check (1d20+16 = 35) Knowledge (life sciences) check (1d20+18 = 30) Straightforward Intelligence check (1d20+10 = 29)
Heridfel Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 Excellent results overall, giving you the information that I listed in my post. Feel free to add a little technobabble of your own. You were able to tell the system to acquire a new target and start the process before White Knight spoke to you, but you don't think that he'll stand for any more delays based on your passive Sense Motive check. You can re-consider the argument you made or try a different tack if you'd like.
Dr Archeville Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 So if he leaves it now, in 5-10 minutes it will have rebooted and (hopefully) nullified everyone? Or does he still need to stand there and do more to it to get it to do its thing?
Heridfel Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 It's the former. The reconfiguration has started and will continue whether or not he's still there (and whomever he used as the template is still there).
Heridfel Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 Just checking in here. Dryad, Dr. Archeville, are you guys still watching this thread?
Dr Archeville Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 I am, and I'd PMed nareik to let him know Dryad could/should do something. I'll try and get something in tomorrow evening.
Dr Archeville Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 While Doc was looking over his gear, did he see anything indicating that it would not work? Or that anyone really did mess/tamper with it?
MBCE Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Are you guys finished with this? Can it be locked up?
Dr Archeville Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Yeah, lock it up; if/when Heridfel returns we can unlock it.
Dr Archeville Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 *digs out PL 10 Doc A char sheet* Medicine check is.... 23!
Avenger Assembled Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Dryad is still alive, but not for long if something isn't done fast. It looks as if all her vital functions have been interrupted; as if someone has flipped off her body without turning off her mind. Her body has stopped working, at least for the moment, but her brain is obviously still there, vital and alive, trapped in flesh that might kill her.
Avenger Assembled Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Oh, what the heck. Gimmie a Craft: Electronics roll. :D
Avenger Assembled Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Sorry for the delay. Should update here tomorrow. :)
Dr Archeville Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Yeah, yeah, you'd rather spend time with the Claremont Kids than grumpy ol' Doc... :P
