Dr Archeville
When -- and if -- Heridfel decides. I'd say it's up to him whether or not we go that route, since he'd have to be running a prison (though more likely/manageably just a prison block) full of re-powered villains. Link to comment
Heridfel
That definitely would take more thought than the original plan of Dryad's powers being restored through some quirk of fate. I need to know what crime Dryad was imprisoned for (either a thread link or a general description). If she were to help protect Dr. Archeville and the Blackguards during a prison riot, she might conceivably be given time off for good behavior. Meanwhile, I'll continue with Dr. Archeville's preparations. Dryad should be escorted down to the infirmary shortly thereafter, and by that time, I will hopefully have something planned out. nareik123
I don't know if it lives, but Dryad was arrested for storming a nightclub and attacking Archeville himself, trying to fight the Green Man's spell. Link to comment
Dr Archeville
It was the "A New Day, A New Way" thread. Archeville was out with Keira & Star, visiting assorted nightclubs, when Dryad burst in and started tearing up the place. She directly attacked Archeville, but no one else. So, destruction of property and assault (though Archeville didn't press charges on that one), and possibly some sort of 'disturbing the peace' thing. Based on the trial rules from the Mastermind's Manual, and assuming average rolls, I figured her sentence would've been for around nine months. Link to comment
Heridfel
Hmm. I'd knock off two months because Freedom City has a deus ex machina - ahem, I mean NPC, designed to clean up the city after metahumans start smashing up the place. Paradoxically, the more damage she did, the more likely that Dr. Metropolis would put the bar up for a little urban remodeling. That, and I suspect that Freedom City also has fairly lenient judges when it comes to non-violent super crime, and Dr. Archeville didn't press charges on the violent part. Link to comment
Heridfel
I'm ready to begin. Dr. Archeville, please start your engines of proteomic change, and I'll come in with a bang. Link to comment
Dr Archeville
[[ If neither of you have/want to say anything else, I can continue on with stuff. My next post'll have Dryad's powers coming back & the prisoner's in the nearest cell block breaking out. ]] Link to comment
Heridfel
Please continue. All you'll need to do is post that some noise can be heard from down the hall. I'll handle the bulk of the breakout myself. Link to comment
Heridfel
Both of the guards are taking the covering action with their suits' main weapon against Dryad. Despite her words, she definitely seems threatening. I'll hold off on rolling the attack, since I don't need to reveal the consequences of failure to comply unless you actually fail to comply. But it is time for initiative to be rolled. The guards have 15 and 13 (link). Note: The guard does not know what is happening in the rest of the facility. He thinks that the alarm is due entirely to what is happening in the infirmary. Link to comment
Heridfel
Nareik, it's not clear now why Dryad's powers returned, or that it's happening throughout the facility. You're a bit premature in saying that you're needed to help Dr. Archeville fix the air ducts, and you're the only threat that the guards currently see. If you want to point out the noises being heard down the hall, it will help make your case better than hissing at the people you're trying to convince that you're not a crazy supervillain. Dr Archeville
I'm waiting for nariek to edit his post before making one for Doktor Archeville. (I could make one now, ignoring his last post, but I'd prefer to give him time to edit his post.) Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Your post still seems a tad odd. Dryad's saying she'll help the guards get "there" -- where? As far as Dryad, Doc, and the guards in the infirmary know, the klaxons are going off because Dryad got her powers back -- no one in the infirmary knows about the prison break going on. Oh, and Doc A's initiative is... a mighty 5. Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Nareik, I think you're up. And don't forget to roll initiative, too. Link to comment
Heridfel
Nareik, when you roll initiative, the main fight starts. The fight is coming to you at this point, rather than the other way around. Link to comment
nareik123
Your initiative roll, as requested. Link to comment
Heridfel
You guys just ended up behind everyone in initiative (save some of the followers of the main villain). Dryad is up now, followed by Dr. Archeville. Link to comment
Dr Archeville
How much does Dr. A know about White Knight (or anyone else in the prison)? Can I make some sort of Knowledge check (current events? pop culture?) to see what he knows? (Either of those would be a straight-up Int check for him.) Link to comment
Heridfel
Knowledge (current events) is the best one there. It's not a hard check, so you could succeed untrained. Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Not such a good roll -- a mere 13. But, I'll stick with it, because I've got plans for his Hero Points (and may be using one this round), and that may be enough for the char to know enough for his plan. Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Bluff/'innuendo' check to let Maria know he's not REALLY switching sides: 17 Bluff or Diplomacy roll vs. WK (not sure which is more appropriate): 3 Spend an HP to re-roll: 19 Would Archeville's Attractive factor in (at least partially), seeing as how he looks almost exactly like what WK thinks the Master Race should look like? Bluff/'innuendo' check to let Dryad know he's trying to set things up to help her take these guys down: 1 Crap. Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Herid, I've a question, which I've posted here. Nareik, what area is Dryad filling with vines? Who should be making saves? And, on the off chance that she can't hit "everyone", who are the main ones she wants to be sure to hit? Link to comment
nareik123
Probably you being in the main list. She really doesn't like being betrayed and doesn't know your trying to bluff her. She would also like to attack the ones around her and Maria. Link to comment
Heridfel
Cool. I'm posting who got caught by the snare. Unfortunately, I rolled very well for them - two of them rolled natural 20s on the Reflex save to avoid the snare. The link is here. Nareik, go ahead and post Dryad's reaction to Dr. Archeville's bluff. Your reaction might affect the villains' actions. Dr. Archeville, just to clarify, the prison is fairly deep underground. They might have a window into the infirmary, but it would be an interior window, and likely wouldn't open. If her vines came through there, they'd be breaking stuff. That's also why I mentioned that some are coming from the ceiling - it's as likely as the floor, and maybe a little more. Link to comment
