Barnum Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 I now officially have regained my faith in Marvel. That was possibly the greatest film I have seen from them. I am definitely going to pick it up on DVD. It is getting really good reviews from movie critics too. It has a 94% on the Tomatometer.
Veiled Malice Posted May 5, 2008 Author Posted May 5, 2008 I now officially have regained my faith in Marvel. That was possibly the greatest film I have seen from them. I am definitely going to pick it up on DVD. Same here. I have nothing but good to say about it, and it's a tremendous coup for anyone even remotely into comics. Or movies. Or stuff that entertains in any way, shape or form. :D
Warmonger Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Absolutley perfect. One of the best Superhero movies ever. Ranks right up there with X-Men 2.
nareik123 Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 I thought it was better than X-2. One thing i never understood. Why didn't the villain whose name escapes me drop an EMP on stark when he was inside the suit? Wouldn't that effectively defeat Starks death suit?
Heridfel Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Also, EMPs will only affect unshielded electronics. Since the suit was designed to be flown, we can assume that Stark was shielding the electronics, if only to protect against lightning strikes.
Barnum Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 EMPs aren't so easy to generate. Sure they are. Haven't you seen Ocean's Eleven (the remake)? :D
Heridfel Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 I managed to block it out fairly well. Now all I can remember is: 1) George Clooney is smarmy. 2) Brad Pitt likes to smile a lot. 3) Julia Roberts was involved. 4) There was a very athletic man who fit himself into a tiny box. I could also add "They could have eliminated half of the 11 people without changing the story", but that's more of a value judgement.
Barnum Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 2) Brad Pitt likes to smile a lot. *sighs* Yes . . . yes he does. *swoons*
zero21 Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 I just saw it friday, and DAMN!...I want an Iron-monger suit for real..lol I hope they make an avengers movie, but who'd play Thor..and who'd they fight? Oh, and for the record..*hits Mr.Pitt with a shovel*
Veiled Malice Posted May 11, 2008 Author Posted May 11, 2008 Have you seen the man in Snatch? Hitting him with a shovel would only annoy him.
zero21 Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Maybe, but it's very relaxing for me, and Im not trying to do actual damage, just wreck his smarmy grin.
Vaalus Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 but who'd play Thor If you've seen it, I think Vladimir Kulich, the guy who played Buliwyf in the 13th warrior movie. At least that is who I think would be the perfect actor for Thor.
