trollthumper
Nick Cimitiere, Equinox, Ghost Girl, Wraith, Phantasmo, and Nightingale deal with an otherworldly cult in Rio de Janeiro. Link to comment
Gizmo
Kimber is using Super-Senses 4 (Counters Concealment [Visual, Flaws: Limited (Undead)], Darkvision) [3PP]along with setting her secondary array toSuper-Senses 4 (Detect Death [Mental]; Extras: Extended 1 [100'], Radius, Ranged) [4PP]Super-Senses 4 (Postcognition; Extra: Affects Others, Flaw: Limited [Moments of Death]) [4PP] (Nick’s Necrovision)What does that tell her about what just happened? trollthumper
Kimber's memories of the woman dissolving into mist involve a warm, full-bodied feeling, like physical and religious ecstasy all at once as her body flew apart - almost as if her nerve signals were being manipulated to trigger the pleasure centers. And, as far as she can tell, there's no ghost. Link to comment
trollthumper
All right, innocents at risk means 1 HP to all! We're got one round to try and drive the nanotech out of as many of the fifteen cultists as possible. After that, we punch a false angel in the face. Link to comment
Gizmo
Ghost GirlInitiative: 1d20+3 10 Kimber's 'disrupt electronics' power would probably do a number on the nanotech, but does she have enough information to figure out that's what they're dealing with in a timely fashion? Maybe someone with a nose for metal should speak up! Link to comment
Fox
Initiative Roll: 1d20+7 23I imagine Wraith can supply that. Worst case she can shapeshift the detection and connect it to her past education. Nanites are dangerous on her world. Things that consume metal to reproduce are the closest thing they'd have to a disease! Link to comment
MisterShoebox
I suppose if need be, Phantasmo could poof the civilians out of harm's way when Wraith and Ghost Girl do their things. Assuming this roll works... Inits: 1d20+3=4 ...D'oh! Edited January 11, 2015 by MisterShoebox Link to comment
trollthumper
I would say that Wraith can supply that info to Kimber. As for Phantasmo... well, he does have that shiny Hero Point. Link to comment

MisterShoebox
Hmmmm....Let's see. I assume if need be Phantasmo could distract the Angel with a bit of a song and dance - well, not literally, but generally do a bit of a show - to distract the Angel while those of you with more USEFUL powers de-nano-goo and remove 'em so they can safely be out of danger while we do our - as Nick put it - "Creative Blasphemy." Perhaps a bit of conjuration? A bit of a stage show? Somethign involving - to quote Photo Finish - ze magics? He's good at making distractions. Thoughts? Gizmo
Shoebox, unless you're spending an HP to reroll his Initiative, you should wait to decide what Phantasmo does until he comes up in Initiative order. Link to comment
trollthumper
I am going to allow MS to reroll Phantasmo's Bluff attempt when he's in Initiative. And speaking of...The Angel will be represented by >AA's Robot Psychic adjusted for PL13 caps. The first Upload will be represented by my >Particle Man build, adjusted for PL11 caps.Angel goes on 25.Upload goes on 10.Nick goes on 10.Nightingale: 27, Unharmed, 2 HPAngel: 25, Unharmed, 0 HPWraith: 23, Unharmed, 4 HPEquinox: 16, Unharmed, 5 HPNick Cimitiere: 10, Unharmed, 5 HPGhost Girl: 10, Unharmed, 4 HPUpload: 10, Unharmed, 0 HPHayley: 9, Unharmed, 0 HPPhantasmo: 4, Unharmed, 2 HPNightingale is up first. April
Nicola is going to slice her wrist and feed a cultist some of her delicious blood.By this I mean she is healing one of them. DC 18 Fortitude (Harmless) save, and Nicola will be fatigued. Link to comment
trollthumper
All right. Seeing as these are PL0 Bystanders being turned into floating clouds of nanotech, we'll say that the Healing effect manages to purge one of the cultists before they're turned. It's the Angel's turn, but he's not going to do much more than look down on the interlopers and be very cross.Wraith is up next. Fox
Move action: Wraith goes Combat Mode.Elongation 1 (5ft) [2pp]Leaping 2 (x5; 75' running long jump / 18' high jump) [1pp]Strike 5 (Feats: Improved Critical [19-20], Mighty) [7pp]2+1+7= 10ppStandard action: Charge the angel.Melee Attack Roll vs. Angel (melee; Charge +2): 1d20+11+2 33....uh. That'll do! I'll go ahead and just take the +5 bonus crit effect, for a DC31 Toughness save.Wraith is at -2 defense until the start of her next turn. As she's the only other person immediately nearby, she'll be interposing for Nightingale for the moment. Link to comment
trollthumper
The Angel makes its save.Nightingale: 27, Unharmed, 2 HPAngel: 25, Unharmed, 0 HPWraith: 23, Unharmed, 4 HPEquinox: 16, Unharmed, 5 HPNick Cimitiere: 10, Unharmed, 5 HPGhost Girl: 10, Unharmed, 4 HPUpload: 10, Unharmed, 0 HPHayley: 9, Unharmed, 0 HPPhantasmo: 4, Unharmed, 2 HPEquinox is up next. Ecalsneerg
Move Action: Fly in close to the Angel.Free Action: Turn on all Force Fields, with Subtle. Drop Hayley.Standard Action: No actions to draw her wand, so let's do it au naturale. Penetrating Fire Blast 9, Power Attacking for 2. So, with that DC26 Toughness save... Pyrkagius!: 1d20+9 27 Link to comment
trollthumper
The Angel once again makes its save, and... well, given Kimber's Pyrophobia Complication, I'm giving her a chance to make a DC21 Will save against fear and take a Hero Point.Nightingale: 27, Unharmed, 2 HPAngel: 25, Unharmed, 0 HPWraith: 23, Unharmed, 4 HPEquinox: 16, Unharmed, 5 HPNick Cimitiere: 10, Unharmed, 5 HPGhost Girl: 10, Unharmed, 4 HPUpload: 10, Unharmed, 0 HPHayley: 9, Unharmed, 0 HPPhantasmo: 4, Unharmed, 2 HPAll right, it's Nick's turn, and... seeing as those people surrounding the angel are still being turned. Let's say it's a group of 10, and that Nightingale has already gotten one. So, Nick is going to stunt the following off of Gifts of the Dead:Healing 12 (Extras: Total, Area Cone, Flaws: Distracting, Power Feats: Persistent, Regrowth)So, he'll be Fatigued on his next turn and is losing his Dodge Bonus. On the other hand, given his current position, that should take care of all the ones who haven't been fully converted, leaving just the Angel and the Upload.Ghost Girl is up next. Link to comment
Gizmo
Ghost GirlWill Save vs DC 21: 1d20+10 29 Move Action: Fly to Cultists.Standard Action: Disrupt Electronics:Damage 12 (Extras: Affects Corporeal, Autofire, Linked [Drain], Flaws: Limited [Objects], Limited [Electronics], Power Feats: Accurate 2) [14PP] (disrupt electronics)+ Drain Toughness 12 (Extras: Affects Corporeal, Affects Objects, Linked [Damage], Flaws: Limited [Objects], Limited [Electronics]) [12PP]I'm assuming she can take 10 here. If it's possible I'd also like to spend that HP from the complication to stunt Takedown Attack 1, destroying the nanites in as many of the cultists as she can reach. Insubstantial should mean that she can get into the densest part of their crowd for that purpose. Link to comment
trollthumper
Yeah, that will most certainly work. If Nick's process stopped them from dying, then Kimber's process will make sure the nanites can't come back online if the Angel throws a hissy fit. The existing Upload still stands, though.Nightingale: 27, Unharmed, 2 HPAngel: 25, Unharmed, 0 HPWraith: 23, Unharmed, 4 HPEquinox: 16, Unharmed, 5 HPNick Cimitiere: 10, Unharmed, 5 HPGhost Girl: 10, Unharmed, 4 HPUpload: 10, Unharmed, 0 HPHayley: 9, Unharmed, 0 HPPhantasmo: 4, Unharmed, 2 HPSpeaking of... the Upload unleashes a barrage of stinging nanotech (Targeted Area Shapeable w/ Autofire) on those who've entered immediate range with the Angel, which would be Nightingale, Wraith, Equinox, and Ghost Girl. Ghost Girl is intangible, so nothing there, but 21 to hit for everyone else. So, that's DC26 TOU save for Equinox, DC27 TOU for Wraith and Nightingale.Hayley is up next. Link to comment
