Gizmo Posted April 8, 2015 Author Posted April 8, 2015 A little belated but it's worth noting that if Wildcat lives in the West End he'd almost certainly already be familiar with the Interceptors and by extension know who Jill O'Cure is. They're based specifically in that nieghbourhood and tend to make the news! Give me a relevant Knowledge check - Streetwise or Current Events would cover it or you can feel free to make a case for something else - and I'll let you know what he knows!
Mad Scientist Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 All right, I wasn't entirely sure -- while Jack has a Reputation entry, Jill herself does not. Streetwise: 1d20+3 17
Gizmo Posted April 8, 2015 Author Posted April 8, 2015 Wildcat The costume was already a dead giveaway but the mention of healing powers and the snarky attitude confirm that this is Jill O'Cure, one of the Interceptors. She's been active primarily in the West End for more than four years now, notably using her force fields to help the fire department and her healing abilities in cases like the time the city's water supply was spiked with mutagen and getting a lot of news coverage along with the rest of her team during the Gorgon panic. Conventional wisdom among the non-powered criminal element is to just surrender if confronted by Jill: she's a formidable and acrobatic hand-to-hand combatant in the first place but the offensive side of her powerset is especially unpleasant. She's related to the Interceptor's leader Jack of all Blades is some fashion, probably siblings given the resemblance. She also partners with the armored heroine Dragonfly almost as often as she appears with her team.
Gizmo Posted April 8, 2015 Author Posted April 8, 2015 Well, that's your prerogative! Did you want to make any changes to your last post in light of that info? You don't have to.
Mad Scientist Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Nope, it's all good -- I'll incorporate that info from hereon out, but for now he was just trying to zing her back with a name like she did to him. Flawless success, btw -- he has such a glib tongue....
Gizmo Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 Hit me with a Notice check and a Search check!
Mad Scientist Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 BAM! Notice: 1d20+9 27 Pow. Search: 1d20+3 11
Gizmo Posted April 14, 2015 Author Posted April 14, 2015 Since Wildcat doesn't have any ranks in Computers or Gather Information, just give me an untrained Intelligence check to see what he digs up with a quick search on his phone.
Mad Scientist Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Intelligence Roll: 1d20+1 2 So...his web browser crashes?
Mad Scientist Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Did you want a Perception roll again? I didn't want to post any sort of result, as I'm not sure yet how extensively you're planning on taking this cotangent, :)
Gizmo Posted May 2, 2015 Author Posted May 2, 2015 Jill O'CureInitiative: 1d20+8 13Paramilitary ThugsInitiative: 1d20+2 14> 23 - Wildcat - Uninjured, 1HP14 - Paramilitary Thugs - Uninjured x612 - Jill O'Cure - Uninjured
Mad Scientist Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Time to split their attention further! Wildcat is going to jump to the side of the pack of thugs, ideally putting as many of the ones targeting Jill between himself and the ones targeting him, to mess up their assignments. Defensive attack one of the thugs aiming at Jill.Melee Attack (Defensive Attack +2): 1d20+3 21 Toughness Save DC 20. Wildcat's current defense is +11, or +19 if any of them shoot at him, thanks to Elusive Target.
Gizmo Posted May 5, 2015 Author Posted May 5, 2015 Paramilitary ThugToughness Save vs DC 20: 1d20+6 7Haha, well, alright then. Good showing for Wildcat!23 - Wildcat - Uninjured, Defense +2, 1HP> 14 - Paramilitary Thugs - Uninjured x512 - Jill O'Cure - Uninjured
Mad Scientist Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 So, are we accounting for things like Knockback and the thugs' impression of a bowling lane, or...? :P
Gizmo Posted May 5, 2015 Author Posted May 5, 2015 Given the relatively low rank of Wildcat's damage there the downed thug is only knocked back about five feet to the ground, not enough to really effect the other five.
Gizmo Posted May 8, 2015 Author Posted May 8, 2015 The good news is that Wildcat's knocked out one of the soldiers but that means that the rest can open fire on him freely now!Paramilitary ThugsCombined Attack vs Wildcat: 2#1d20+6 26 14That ends up being a DC 21 Toughness Save for him.Combined Attack vs Jill O'Cure: 3#1d20+6 7 11 9Gimme a Toughness Save, Mad!
Mad Scientist Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Toughness Save DC 21: 1d20+5 8...of course. HP reroll -- apparently Wildcat can't make a Toughness save worth a damn.Toughness Save DC 21, HP Reroll: 1d20+5 13 So, +10 from being a HP reroll, total of 23.
Mad Scientist Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 It's Jill's turn now, is it not? Just confirming that you're not waiting on me.
Gizmo Posted May 9, 2015 Author Posted May 9, 2015 Correct!
