Thunderbolt is a tall girl with light brown skin and dark brown hair. Though she dyes it in different colors depending on the month or just where her mood takes her. Her build is that of a tech nerd, though the judo lessons her dad forced on her built her body in a more muscular manner. Though she still maintains her more lightweight build. Her most defining feature is her right arm, which is a cybernetic prosthetic, and a gunmetal grey in colors. Covered in band and operation stickers.

Power Descriptions: Thunderbolt has no powers, but the MK13 Variable Unusual Threat Response Suit is a man sized suit, colored in a digital urban camo. Being the thirteenth iteration of the suit, it has a man like appearance and size. With the only non human esque feature being the helmet, which carries a pair of armored long range radar and communications suite, along with replacing the eyes and mouth with a view slit and armored faceplate. The blasters themselves emit a purple light, which in itself was a modification made to the light refraction.

History:Samantha was one of those kids who never quite clicked with the other boys and girls, born on a cold christmas in her Louisiana home to Alex and Evelyn Garoux, Sam was working on the machines on the small farm they owned as soon as she could hold a wrench. Working on all manner of mechanical devices, and keeping their on base home in workable shape throughout the years. Until one day, while on summer vacation and working on an old tractor. She lost her left arm, though it was stabilized it turned out she would be alright for the most part, and her father and mother were working to get her the best prosthetics they could find, Sam was unhappy, she knew the arms she could get weren’t advanced. So she devised a plan for herself, and for the next six months she designed and built herself an arm out of the same tractor parts that had hurt her, beginning her philosophy of taking old things and building them into something she could use to help herself  and others with. Beginning her endeavours into robotics and replacing flesh with steel when it came time for it, her parents both saw this, and while she was still young. They began to look to Claremont, as it was somewhere where a person with her gifts could excel, and so at the age of 14 she was enrolled at the school.

Sam had a hard time in her freshman year, being smart didn’t make her an exception anymore. So she worked through her time, doing her best to make friends and working harder on her battlesuits, so she could even the odds with some of the other students. Submitting these ideas to her father, who presented them to his peers in the military. All was right in the world, until the christmas break between her first and second semesters. When her mother, driving on the relatively bad roads of their native town, was involved in a car crash which lead to her death due to complications a day later, putting Sam in grief for the remainder of the semester. Days would come where she often locked herself in the room to simple cry. Adopting a disheveled appearance and black hair for a while. Not making much progress, and having more failed prototypes.

Her summer between her first and second years was a time for Sam to rebuild, spending more time with her father and finally reaching an acceptance point. Going back to school with a renewed vigor to finally make a working suit, having more and more failed prototypes before she finally realized what she was doing wrong. Building her twelfth suit to see more and more improvement in the tail end of her sophomore year. She’s finally corrected everything with the 13th she believes, and she’s eager to use it in action.

Personality & Motivation: Thunderbolt’s personality could generally be described as a tired. Whether it be from the long nights at her computer working away, or all the time she spends in the workshop. Building new accessories for her suit, she absolutely idolizes the battlesuit heroes and being like them is one of her motivations to put on the suit everyday. She also has a deep seated want to help people, doing all she can for others. Finally, she loves her country, and wants to defend it to the best of her abilities

Powers & Tactics: While she may be in the process of developing them, Thunderbolt likes to attack from the front most of the time, using the suits boosters to gain a maneuverability advantage, while in melee though. She does incorporate some of her Judo moves, and she likes to make use of her environment when fighting.

Complications:

Name: Disarmed: Her cybernetic arm is the one thing that allows her to access her suit, without it, she can’t do much

9 times out of 10 I’m right: Sam knows her realm of technology, and while she is willing to learn. There are about two peoples she’ll listen to if they offer her advice on her suit, and she hasn’t met them yet

Hey Ironette, Thunderbolt looks interesting, here are a few comments for you.

First, there are some general formatting issues, such as needing to add some spaces in places, that need to be tidied up.

Over all you mechanics look good, although I would say she is a bit on the low side in terms of exotic saves.   Also, by my count, she is at 106 pp, so one point will need to be shaved somewhere.

Regarding your fluff, there are a couple of concerns I have.

First, the general public is not aware that Claremont is a school for superpowered individuals (or even those with other extreme talents that could lead them to superheroics).  So it would likely work better if there was some chain of events that led to Headmaster Summers offering her a place at the school.

Second, why is the Marine Corps funding her pet project?  The Marines have, by far, the smallest budget of the military (as they fall under the Department of the Navy), so I would imagine that money going to the project of a teenage daughter of a high ranking general might raise some eyebrows with the Ways and Means Committee.  At the very least, the military would likely expect that the developments in her research go to more wide production for military use.
