The Max troopers lowered their weapons to a ready position at the protestations of Sea Devil, and the vouchsafe of the Black Knight.  One approached Aquaria and pulled her ID from the pocket she had detailed and handed it back to her as he nodded to the commanding officer, "Checks out."  he said over hte suits speakers.  At Black Knights outburst weapons went to the ready once more but as the object of the armored heroes angst became apparent they quickly waved an EMT team forward to see to the injured woman.

Looking to Phantasmo with some disgust and Aquaria suspiciously the commanding officer pointed toward the blown out front of the store and a trio of obvious government agents in black suits conferring with an unhappy FCPD captain about jurisdiction, "The Agents will take your statements."  She said firmly and turned to her own forces, "Secure the scene then aid with rescue operations interface with first responder networks, get moving!"

To say Hale was reluctant to leave Arnasaq's side would be quite an understatement but he begrudgingly acknowledges that theres noting more he can really do for her personally and steps back to give the professionals room to work. on the short walk to retrieve his discarded helmet the world seems to blur into a chaotic mishmash of distorted sounds and blending colours as his inner turmoil intensified weight and tightness becoming heat and trembling as sadness and guilt turn to anger and hatred.

Boomer would be made to pay

he promised Himself and Arna in his mind as he places his helmet back on once again hiding his face behind the mass of impassive black steel.

Phantasmo...THE UNLIVING...took a bite of his sandwich. He had been able to purchase said food item when he was sure the rescue workers had things well in hand, though he was still a bit worried about Black Knight's lady friend. But, he reasoned, no need to worry over an empty stomach. He 'ported over to his friend and handed the young Super another brown paper bag. "Here you are, son. No need to fret with an  empty stomach." The zombie said kindly. It was meatball on rye.

Something caught his eye, though. "Hello...to quote the stereotypical British Pig, "What's all this then?" Phantasmo asked to himself. Those gentlemen who were arguing and pointing at the building...they didn't look like your regular shoppers. The hardware he spotted under their coats proved that, as well. "Hmmmm...curioser and curioser..." He was about to accost them, when yet ANOTHER thing caught his eye.

"...Question, duckies!" He asked his fellow supers. "What kind of door does an employee need a pass for, that's not an emergency exit..."

He pointed a white-gloved finger at the door in question and 'ported over to it. "And, to boot....ohhoh..." He removed the employee ID that had been left there.

"Well...this just became interesting..." Phantasmo mused as he held the little piece of plastic in front of his face.

At Phantasmos revelation a member of STAR Squad approached plucking the card from the zombies hand with a frown and tucked it into an evidence bag, "We'll take it from here gentlemen."  he said flatly as he continued the FCPD canned response, "The city appreciates your efforts on its behalf."  he said finally and moved on to examine the lock mechanism.  Moments later an AEGIS agent in a black suit approached and dismissed the heroes, "You all be sure to leave a statement with our officers outside."  he said in a tone of false friendliness as he rounded on the STAR squad investigator, "AEGIS will be leading this investigation, it may be related to an ongoing case."  he ordered firmly bracing himself for the pushback that was inevitably coming.

Smart money was on AEGIS getting the scene but the wise would likely not want to be caught in the fall out of the jurisdictional squabble.
