angrydurf Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 It's bounced around Chat a few times but hasn't stuck yet so here's a thread!Do you have a character interested in molding hte heroes of the future? Have a favorite Claremont Brat you want to take under your wing and put on the straight and narrow? (Or curvy and broad, bombshell...) Have a Claremont student in need of a mentor and not willing to risk the psychological trauma of Mr. Archer? Post who you have and what they'd be interested in mentoring/being mentored about!
Electra Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Sparkler is getting into a mentorship relationship with Bombshell, which should lead to fun and felony for everyone! Wander is going to be mentoring Woodsman for his many, many "orphan from an alternate dimension" issues. Wander could probably take on another mentee, most likely somebody who is facing some of the problems she came to school with, (ie uncontrolled strength, traumatic past, dimensional dislocation.) I could see Hologram or Fleur de Joie potentially taking somebody on, if the situation were right.
Thunder King Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Crimson Tiger, aka Mali, is a Claremont graduate and an expert martial artist, she would be happy to return to school to lend some help to the students. She can tutor in hand-to-hand combat training, stealth, or just generally teach them the ins and outs of the basics.
angrydurf Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 Phalanx has ties to the school and would be a willing mentor to younger heroes: Particularly in relation to power control and dealing with fear of their powers.I'm willing to hear pitches about Ouroboros but all that comes to mind is if you're a mystic that Summers doesn't like they might stick Huang with you because he's rather insufferable other than that Phantom and Avenger have rater intentionally not foisted him off on the mystics they know out of a desire for him to have something like normalcy in his life.
Brown Dynamite Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Foreshadow is an active donator to the school like his predecessor. And is aware of its function. Although he's in the UK a lot of the time due to school and his Vanguard commitments, FC is only a teleport away. He's become a pretty decent martial artist, but is generally a jack of all trades. While his obvious street leanings, means he could be an adequate teacher in things like investigative skills, criminology, gathering evidence on those organized criminals that won't be put away with a mere punch. Foreshadow as a mentor could also arguably stem more from just how much he loves the whole heroing thing, in a be a good influence to rub off on this person. Also, he could help a by being a more direct benefactor to a mentee so they own more than 1 set of clothes.
Thevshi Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I have two possible mentors:Tsunami: A rather recent graduate from Claremont, she is a water controller and a skilled martial artist. She was groomed her entire life to control her powers, and could be a good mentor for someone that has trouble controlling their powers, particular those that involve area effects. She also can be a good mentor for those that might have questionable pasts, as her entire family are criminals/supercriminals (involved in Dr. Sin's criminal network on her father's side and Typhoon is her maternal grandfather). Velocity: A member of the Freedom League (one of the first PC's here to join the Freedom League while still a teenager), Velocity turned down an invitation to attend Claremont while she was a teenager hero, but certainly knows about the school from her teammates that are alumni. She has helped mentor younger heroes before, the most recent being a Claremont student following the Day of Wrath. She also now has a child that attends the Nicholson School, so has a bit more interest in Claremont than she has in the past.
The Sailor Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Torpedo Lass, while not a graduate of CA might have through her military connections and potentially hearing any call for mentors decided to answer the call.Super, super strong, possibly the world's fastest swimmer, and well trained in things like survival, first response, and if needed can be a living witness to history... at least for the first half of WWII.
Heritage Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Grimalkin would be happy to mentor any students, though not sure who would be interested in her teachings. In a weird way, Miracle Girl might be interested in studying under Foreshadow; since her first encounter with Terrifica, she's been intrigued by the stealthier side of heroing, and sees that as an area of potential growth. In other words, she saw The Incredibles!
R. Bluefish Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Vox could theoretically do with a bit more guidance in his life. He still feels responsible for his friends getting killed, has subpar social skills, and harbors some resentment towards his own psychic powers. He also hasn't acclimatized hugely well to Claremont, having spent most of his life living on the street. Not to mention a general lack of any real heroing experience.
Electra Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 If Vox wants a psychic mentor, Hologram might be able to teach him a few things, and can sympathize to a certain extent with time spent living on the street. For a psychic mentor closer to his own age, you might ask Alderwitch about Psyche, who just graduated from Claremont herself a few years ago.
The Sailor Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 (edited) On the student end Sakurako could use something for getting to socialize and perhaps get out of the lab. Perhaps interacting with someone who isn't a scientist would help. Edited October 11, 2015 by Sailor
Tiffany Korta Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Blod's a badass sword weirder who not only calm and relaxed but as a day job fights monsters. As a Claremoner she'd be happy to give something back.
EternalPhoenix Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Terrifica would be more than happy to pass on some knowledge to the next generation. She is an actual professor, after all. And assuming Waverider is approved in time, rookie heroes always need mentors.
The Sailor Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 (edited) Just so people know, I am still interested in having Torpedo Lass be a mentor. Ring me up if you got an idea. (Note, Endeavor won't be one of them...) Edited April 9, 2016 by Sailor
TheAbsurdist Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 It's been done in the ToV, but Asad is totes down for mentorship. And who wouldn't have a billionaire playboy philanthropist as their mentor?
Exaccus Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Facsimile could do with a bit more interaction on the Claremont front
