Heritage Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 I typically like to do something Halloween-y with Grimalkin every year, as it's one of her favorite holidays; as a sort of sequel to this thread last year, I thought it might be fun if Grim agreed to help out some local farmers by spicing up their annual corn maze. Yes, they have them in New Jersey; this one would be quite close to Freedom! Unlike last year, i don't really want to do more than have this be a social/fun ideas thread; I didn't have the time to run the combat/mystery elements last year, and i have even less time now. Please let me know if you're interested!
Raveled Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Blue Jay could make the most bedeviling corn maze. "Three steps down this path is the deadfall. If they go left, then they get the paper haystacks covering glue traps." "Great, but where did the pitchforks go?" "That's if they get past the deadfall."
Heritage Posted October 10, 2015 Author Posted October 10, 2015 Monty Python's The Architect Sketch comes to mind
The Sailor Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 I think I'll have Sakurako volunteer. Don't mind a Claremonter in this thread? Also I think I'll have her dressed like this... probably one of the the last times people will see her in any sort of sailor-like outfit. Why? "I like how this Anime portrays how electromagnetics research can be used... although not a fan of using it in a war setting... it's amusing to watch."
R. Bluefish Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 While this isn't the sort of thing Starlight would typically go in for, I can see her volunteering out of a desire to do something unambiguously nice for once. Maybe Grim talks her into it?Also, are we using our hero identities, or our civilian ones? Or would that potentially vary by character?
The Sailor Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Good question on this one. Whatcha say on that, Heri?
Tiffany Korta Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Miss Grue enjoyed helping last year, so I'm sure she'll be happy to come back to help.
Thunder King Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Depending on how many people you have, Grim has Crimson Tiger as a tenant. She's sneaky, could be devious
Heritage Posted October 13, 2015 Author Posted October 13, 2015 The idea is that you would be in your super identity, using their powers In creative ways, but if someone wanted to do it in their civilian identity they would not be turned away. Also if someone justs wants to visit and enjoy the attraction, that's fine, too!I'm thinking that this will follow a common pattern and the maze will have two sections, one merely fun and disorienting (and therefore kid friendly), the other horror themed for teens and up. If folks have a preference, that's cool; Grim tends to hang out in the bloody end of the pool
The Sailor Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Well as Sakurako's suit's outward appearance can adjust I think her changing up her costume will fit in. That and all her high-tech stuff will earn her some geeky costume points. And probably with the family friendly maze, Sakurako isn't a fan of the more horror-themed stuff. But is happy to help!
Heritage Posted October 14, 2015 Author Posted October 14, 2015 (edited) Okay, so let's do a quick head count:Blue Jay*Crimson Tiger*Endeavor*Grimalkin & Shrike*Miss Grue*Starlight*Terrifica** designates confirmed.I think this would be more than enough; please let me know if you're definitively in or out! Edited October 17, 2015 by Heritage
The Sailor Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 (edited) Endeavor is totally in! Family Friendly and happy to help! Edited October 15, 2015 by Sailor
R. Bluefish Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Starlight is also in. She's more likely to stick with the family-friendly side of things, although she would be perfectly willing to help out with the horror if need be.
Raveled Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Blue Jay'll work it. Not sure where she should go, but she'll work it.
EternalPhoenix Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Terrifica would love to help out again, if you'll have her.
Heritage Posted October 16, 2015 Author Posted October 16, 2015 Of course, EP! I'll update my roster.
Heritage Posted October 16, 2015 Author Posted October 16, 2015 TK and, well, TK? Can you two confirm If Crimson Tiger and Miss Grue are definitely In for the thread?
Tiffany Korta Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Yeah I'm good for this, last in and all .
Thunder King Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I'm good for it, if you can handle the load
Heritage Posted October 17, 2015 Author Posted October 17, 2015 If this was a combat thread, pffft, hell no, but for a weird social/creative collaboration thing this should be fine. I am locking it up as of now, though. My weekend will be pretty darn busy, so look for this to start early next week.
Heritage Posted October 22, 2015 Author Posted October 22, 2015 Okay, I'm gonna start this up. If people aren't as interested in the creative side of setting up the maze, feel free to come in later; I promise not to make the first section drag out too much. Also please note that this is still kind of an experiment, so I really hope it doesn't suck
The Sailor Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Ok. I'll see how this jam starts, maybe having a interesting way to use our talents will be a fun way to use our abilities. Without having to punch out the villian of the week.
Heritage Posted October 26, 2015 Author Posted October 26, 2015 Sadly work and school are really kicking my ass right now, so I think running any threads is a bad idea for me at the moment. Sorry gang!
Heritage Posted October 27, 2015 Author Posted October 27, 2015 A more manageable idea has come to me: how about a Halloween movie marathon at Lynn's place? There would be food and drink, and everybody brings a favorite Halloween or horror-themed movie and just chills out. I think I could swing that.
Raveled Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 ... Yes. This could be an opportunity to explore a part of Tona that doesn't get much airtime.
