EternalPhoenix Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 Ah, so I did not put that back there. It is Red's turn. He has had an awful headache, so I had heard before the entirety of today happened.
TheRedGuy Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Gah blagh clogged sinuses. Anyway... Flying upwards to get further out of range from the lionesses. Attacking lioness #4 with an Air Blast 9 (maintaining dynamic AP Flight 1), DC24 Toughness save: Attack Roll 1d20+10=25
EternalPhoenix Posted January 19, 2016 Author Posted January 19, 2016 That combo attack has some range. How high are you flying? http://orokos.com/roll/362874 There's another one gone. So I guess the point is moot.
EternalPhoenix Posted January 20, 2016 Author Posted January 20, 2016 Updated Init Order Female Lions 1 to 10 (2 & 4 KO'ed, 6-10 in truck)-19 Male Lion-18 Miracle Girl (2 bruises)-17 Mystery Person A (in shop)-15 El Huracan (uninjured)-11 Mystery Person B (in truck)-8 http://orokos.com/roll/363263 http://orokos.com/roll/363264 Well. Lion 3 misses Casey, but Lion 1 crits. So that's a DC25 Toughness check. Lion 6 bounds into the alley as if summoned, and she and 5 pull the same maneuver. 5 is the one attacking. They've got a combined 36 feet of vertical leaping, for the record. Which is why I asked how high you were in the air. http://orokos.com/roll/363269 If they can reach, that's a miss anyway. Point still kind of moot.
Heritage Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 http://orokos.com/roll/363280 Oh man, that's a 21; even though that's missing by less than five, I'm guessing that will mess me up with a crit? If need be, I will blow my last HP on a reroll.
EternalPhoenix Posted January 20, 2016 Author Posted January 20, 2016 No, I added the crit to the DC. Another bruise for you. Crits either add damage or (with the Mastermind's Manual) add another effect of the attacker's choice. Me, I'd rather have the extra damage every time.
Heritage Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Okay, she can live with a third bruise. Oh wait, I forgot to add (or rather subtract) the effect of the earlier Bruised levels! So that's actually a 19
EternalPhoenix Posted January 20, 2016 Author Posted January 20, 2016 Well, you can be Dazed on top of that third Bruise. So no actions for your next turn, but you keep your Dodge bonus. So there's that, at least. Unless you're going to use that HP?
EternalPhoenix Posted January 20, 2016 Author Posted January 20, 2016 Hmm. Ordinarily, I'd let this be El Hurican's turn. Can't decide. Would you two like to wrap this scene or keep going?
Heritage Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Considering that Casey's taken a bit of a beating, I'd be willing to wrap it up.
EternalPhoenix Posted January 22, 2016 Author Posted January 22, 2016 So it is written, so shall it be done...a little later, when I'm at home again.
Heritage Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Once she has a chance, Casey will do a quick Google search on all three women, either on her phone or on her laptop at her dorm. Let me know if there are any rolls she'd need to make.
EternalPhoenix Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 (edited) Hmm. I'll put it this way. Do you want to roll something? Because I'll never deny you your rolling privileges. Edited March 25, 2016 by EternalPhoenix
Heritage Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 I guess Knowledge: Current Events would make the most sense. 1d20+5=7 Yeah, no
EternalPhoenix Posted March 26, 2016 Author Posted March 26, 2016 There's also untrained Computers and that old chestnut, Gather Information. If you'd still prefer to roll your way to information.
EternalPhoenix Posted March 26, 2016 Author Posted March 26, 2016 I have a GM post ready, if neither of you wants to follow up.
Heritage Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Not sure how to address Casey's little magical crash course in terms of rules; taking 20 on an unskilled Knowledge: Arcane Lore roll, maybe?
EternalPhoenix Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 Why don't we use the Quick Study feat (from Iron Age) as a model? How much Quickness does she have again? Because according to that feat, one hour of study gives the PC one temporary skill rank.
Heritage Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Sounds like a feat I might want to look into! Casey has Quickness 12
EternalPhoenix Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) Oh, it gets better. Once you've used said feat on a skill, you are no longer considered untrained. And that is NOT temporary. You'll just have your ability bonus in the future, though. Well. The limit to the temporary skill ranks in the number of ranks in the feat. So you can't cram 5000 hours' worth of study into one and get 5000 ranks. So...basically what I'll do is say for the duration of this thread, you are now trained in Knowledge (arcane lore) and have a +1 bonus to your ability score when rolling for it. Taking 20 only works if you're actually researching a particular thing. You do have time to do that, though. Edited April 21, 2016 by EternalPhoenix
Heritage Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Cool! I figure she's keeping it fairly broad for now, as she has no idea what she's looking for; I will definitely add a rank or two of Arcane Lore in her next edit!
