Geez3r Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Players Name: Geez3r Power Level: 14 (211/211 PP) Trade-Offs: -3 Defense for +3 Toughness, and -1 Attack for +1 DC mod (ranged) and -3 Attack for +3 DC mod (melee) PP Unspent: 0 Characters Name: Malice Alternate Identity: Eric Micheals Height: 5'8" (6'3" in suit) Weight: 140 lbs (200lbs in suit, go undefined lightweight metal) Hair: A deep red that goes half-way to his shoulders and is parted down the middle. Eyes: Green Description: Despite being quite wealthy, many would claim that Eric is quite down to earth. He tends to be thrifty with his money and is very focused on the task at hand. He can be a bit of a pain to work for because of his high expectations, but if you can routinely make them, then he's a great boss. He can take a joke and talks to everyone as if they are equals, but he can be quite terse and egotistical at times. As of late however, he was really started to resent the supers running about. He hates how dozens of them can take a blast from his most powerful weapon and still be left standing. He feels as if they are mocking his hard work with something that just fell into their lap. His frustration, resentment, and maybe even jealousy became so intense that he started up a private project: building the ultimate anti-super weapon. After nearly a year, his first first prototype is up and running. He dubbed it the Arms of Malice because it is literally a physical manifestation of his hatred for the supers. He plots to one day crush each and every last super in his iron grip, but for now he knows he needs to bide his time. He is still a novice to this sort of thing, and he needs to build up a solid power base if he is to succeed in his plans. History: Born 28 years ago, Eric Miceals was always seen as a gifted child. He was always very smart and by the time he was 8 he was already building his own computers. Eric always received top marks with next to no effort, becoming a bit of an outcast with his peers, not that it mattered of course. Every minute he spent away from kids was one he spent with his parents, who he loved dearly. Now, Eric is a wealthy business man. He owns the relatively small weapons company Darts Inc. (named after the founder). He inherited the shares from his father who passed away about 2 years ago, and combined with the shares he already had, he became the majority shareholder. Eric still misses his father, but he takes solice in the fact that he got to know him so well before his death. Eric does not however, actually have an executive position in the company. He is one of the lead scientists in the R&D department; he loved his old job and he never really saw the benefit of over seeing a company, there's too much work involved. Originally, Eric had used his own basement and tools to design and build the Arms of Malice, but after its completion, he realized that should it ever need real work done on it, he'll need more space. With a bit of ingenuity, elbow grease, wads of cash and a power suit that could lift over 200 times its own weight, and tear matter apart molecule by molecule, Eric had made a bunker for himself below his own house. A section of one of the walls in his basement is a hologram, which "blocks" access to the elevator which takes you another 30 feet down to the base itself, assuming you can bypass the security on the elevator. The base itself isn't all that much to look at. It's essentially just wall to wall tech, with blinking light and monitors as far as the eye can see. There's bit and pieces of half-finished prototypes and scavenged parts lying all over the room. Schematics and designs with various levels of completion are strewn all over a table in the corner, right next to an equally high mound of crumbled paper. What's more is that there are wires running all over the ground going from what appears to be the main power unit in the center of the room to every corner of the room like the drunken weavings of a spider. Complications: * Rivalry (other power suit users) - If you're going to do anything, might as well be the best at it. * Obsession (Power [For the suit]) - If he's not field testing the latest tune up for his suit, he's trying to come up with the next tune up. * Hatred (metahumans who were given or born with their powers) Stats: 24 PP Str: 10/42 (+0/+16) Dex: 10 (+0) Con: 14/24 (+2/+7) Int: 24 (+7) Wis: 12 (+1) Cha: 14 (+2) Combat: 20+16=36 PP Attack: +10, +12 ranged Grapple: +10 or +31 Defense: +8 (+4 flat-footed) [base Defense +8] Knockback: -14 in suit, -1 without suit Initiative: +0 Saves: 4+3+11 = 18PP Toughness: +18 (Imp 11), +2 without suit Fortitude: +11/+5 [+7/+2 Con, +4] Reflex: +3 [+0 Dex, +3] Will: +12 [+1 Wis, +11], Skills: 160r = 40 PP Bluff 8 (+10) Computers 18 (+25) Craft (electronics) 18 (+25) Craft (mechanical) 18 (+25) Diplomacy 8 (+10) Disable Device 18 (+25) Intimidate 18 (+20) Knowledge (business) 5 (+12) Knowledge (civics) 8 (+15) Knowledge (tactics) 8 (+15) Knowledge (technology) 18 (+25) Medicine 3 (+4) Notice 10 (+11) Search 2 (+9) Feats: 9 PP All-Out Attack Attack Focus (Ranged) 2 Connected Contacts Inventor Master Plan Online Research Power Attack Powers: 88 PP Device 22 (The Mantle of Freedom; 110 points, Hard to Lose) [80pp] Communication 4 (radio) {4} Enhanced Constitution 10 {10} Flight 5 (250 mph / 2,500 feet {10} Immunity 9 (life support) {9} Protection 11 (Extra: Impervious 11) {22} Super Senses 6 (Darkvision, Direction Sense, Distance Sense, Time Sense, Ultra Hearing) {6} Weapons Array 21 (42 point powers; PFs: Affects Insubstantial 2, 5 Alternate Powers) {49} * BE: Enhanced Strength 32 and Super-Strength 5 (effective Str 58; Lt Load 12.8 tons, Med Load 25.6 tons, Hvy Load 38.4 tons) Righteous Riot * AP: Blast 14 (Extra: Auto-fire) - The 2nd Amendment * AP: Blast 12 (Extras: Targeted 24 - 5ft square cubes Shapeable Area, PFs: Indirect x3, Homing x2, Progression) - Liberation Cannon * AP: Paralyze 14 (Extras: Alternate Save/Fortitude, Range/Ranged) - Shock and Awe * AP: Blast 14 Extras: Alternative Save (Fortitude) - Total Warfare * AP: Disintegration 14 Flaws: Full Round Action - This weapon is deliberately left untitled Descriptors Weapons Array: After becoming acquainted with the volitile side of conventional weaponry, Malice has opted for a more energy based method. It's quite akin to kinetic energy sharpened to a point. The exception is the last 3 AP's. Rather than breach something, they shake it, violently. Especially so in the last case. This has the added benefit of making the suit much more durable. Barnum Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 1. AP: Disintegration 10, Extras: Ranged -Perception, Flaws: Action - Full Round [-1], Distracting [-1] - The Malice Cannon {1} In UP Disintegration is 5 PPs per rank. This AP costs 40 PPs, too expensive for the array. Everything else looks good to me.
Geez3r Posted May 14, 2008 Author Posted May 14, 2008 Ok, I don't own UP, thanks for the heads up. I took out the perception range extra, and that should bring it back down to the 30 point limit.
Barnum Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Approved. As soon as another Ref approves you, you are good to go.
Heridfel Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 I cleaned up the formatting on the Enhanced Strength; it threw me off at first. I'm also assuming that's the default configuration of the array, since it's the most generally useful if you're not about to blow something up. There's a couple things I wanted to check on before I approved the character. 1) I wanted to make sure you were ok knowing that the radio Communication is point-to-point, and not Area. 2) You don't need to buy a radio Super-Sense separately, since it's included within the Communication. 3) You could get a better benefit by buying some Enhanced Constitution instead of Protection and Regeneration (recovery bonus) separately. Your saves are a little low for PL 10, so this would help you out.
Geez3r Posted May 14, 2008 Author Posted May 14, 2008 Quick summation of changes: took 5 points each out of regeneration and protection, added enhanced con 10. Nixed super sense and changed communication to rank 3 with area. Took 2 points out of Fort save and added to Ref.
