A Bad Case Of The Runs OOC

I'll just go with unarmed damage, for the same DC25 as before; pinning seems pointless under the circumstances, and ending the grapple even for throwing damage is counterproductive, when Leviathan really wants to keep her from running away.

Mentioning this in advance so that, if you want, you can sum up two rounds at once and get to the thief's round 3 actions.

19? LOLno. So, an HP for Leviathan, and...

17. However, the roll was under 10/11 (I forget which), so add ten for 27. So she's all right. In that case, she'll try something different. A Trick, so that he'll do something...unwise. You oppose with Sense Motive or Bluff, whichever is higher. And since Tristan is, well, Tristan, I'm going to rule that her Attractive feat applies.

And that's a 31. Specifically, she's tricking him into thinking that water will weaken her powers. Sea monster thing is working, after all. Only, you know, since it's a trick, the opposite is true. And if you'd like a bonus on your check (because Leviathan's bonuses for both aren't great), a KN (Physical Science) check would be helpful. +1 bonus for every 5 on that check. Like...14 is a +2, but 15 is a +3.

Heh.  Ok, let's see how gullible Leviathan ends up being (and points for creativity to this lady, for thinking to seduce the giant sea monster).

Physical Sciences: 1d20+10 30

Ha-haaah! So that's a +6 bonus to his Bluff check (didn't know you could oppose Bluff with Bluff, so that's interesting, but it's got a slightly higher modifier than Sense Motive).

Bluff: 1d20+12 32

...The universe does not like her.  =D

Weeeeeelll, how high is she flying? Because it is the middle of the night, and they don't have any Extended Range on their senses. Super or otherwise. Meaning if she's high enough they can't make even a routine DC10 check to see her.

Terrifica can't hear Leviathan through the ice and distance. Spark Rocket has one trick left up her sleeve. A Targeted Shapeable Area attack. The point is not to do damage to the big man, necessarily. She'll also hand Leviathan a hero point to acquire the Autofire extra for this turn. For the record, Targeted Area Attacks use your attack bonus at that range, as opposed to General Area Attacks, which just force a Reflex save to half damage (or less with Evasion 1 or 2)

Sometimes I wonder if orokos actually hates me. At any rate, that's a DC23 Toughness save for Leviathan, and a DC24 for the manor around them. So...yeah...the foyer just disintegrated. There were some weight bearing posts in them there walls. Between that, the weight of the ice, and the termite problem the manor is a coming down. But first, your turn! :D

Toughness: 1d20+15 27  Still unharmed!

I think Leviathan is up to 3 hero points now, yes?  Hasn't spent any, and he's gotten two from the fight.  And since Spark isn't fighting the grapple, he doesn't have to check for that, right?  So, making a move action to the nearest outer wall, and attacking it to try to break through.  Power Attack to raise the Toughness DC to 27, and All-Out Attack to bring his attack bonus back up to normal (+/2 in both cases, since Leviathan doesn't have those feats).

Whew.  But it's Spark's turn now, right?  And presumably if she's still fighting, Terrifica gets an Initiative check at this point, since I assume she can see the pair coming out.

You would be quite correct on that front. And since Terrifica actually has enough of an Init Bonus to beat Spark if she rolled badly, and Leviathan is the same, only with Terrifica...Let's Roll For It. :D

Spark rolled a 20 for a 42.

http://orokos.com/roll/381259

Terrifica rolled a 17 for a 31. I already know you can't beat even the latter roll, so Terrifica will just slide between the two of you in Init order. Yep, just what I expected. Init's crazy like that, it is. What Spark does will be in the next OOC post, because this one's long enough.

All right then. Spark's gonna try that last trick. It's a power stunt, so Leviathan picks up a fourth HP and Terrifica picks up a second. She's going to use an old speedster trick, and turn Incorporeal to escape the grapple. By house rules, that's a DC 20 Concentration check. So, roll time.

Rolled a 20 for a 30 result. So...that's a success, then. Can't do anything else this turn, but that's all right. She's Incorporeal. Terrifica has Affects Incorporeal on precisely nothing, so she can't do much of anything worth doing. Leviathan, got any ideas?

Other than politely asking Spark not to run away while flipping him off?  No, not really.  I could also use a power stunt to give Leviathan ghost-fists, but there would be no logic behind it in his case.  She may very well just get away, especially if this power lasts for the whole encounter instead of one turn.

Well, all the cool kids are doing it, and I have no other options anyway, so:

Diplomacy: 1d20+6 18

Hmm, no.  I'm gonna assume she's Hostile (what with the attempted murder earlier), and since I've got four Hero Points, I'll burn one of those to see if I can do any better.

Diplomacy HP Reroll: 1d20+6 24

Now that's more like it.  Can't bring her up to Indifferent (or to Friendly, if for some reason she's only Unfriendly right now), but at least it's probably a shift upward.

Sounds fun to me, if you want to go that route.  If you have other plans, that's fine.  Leviathan's just a straightforward kind of monster, so if they know who the bad guy is, he's in favor of dealing with the problem via gratuitous smashing.
