The soil making up the shallow terraces is still rich with the substances life in the Infraverse has developed a liking for, and each level is much more recent than the last. The uppermost ring wouldn't have been here yesterday. The groundbound life are, despite the retreat and amputated parts, quite healthy.

This doesn't look like something very unusual for this planet, despite how strange it is for the Earthlings. It's an orderly rearrangement, but to where and from precisely what is unclear, though the past landing of the Atoms(which was more of a crash-landing) might have had longer-term consequences than expected.

So, math time:

Search is a full round action.

Searching a 350 mile radius area is 7 steps up the Extended Range table (falls between rank 7: 200 miles and rank 8: 2,000 miles, so we will go with rank 8).

So 7 steps up the time progression table is 1 month to search that area.

Taking 20 on the Search means 20 months to search the area!

So, 1 hour = 600 rounds; 1 month is about 720 hours (24x30) = 432,000 rounds.

20 months = 8,640,000 rounds.
Velocity's max Quickness is x500,000.

So, she can Take 20 and search the area Tess wants searched in less than 17 rounds.  Given the area calculated is more than five times the area Tess wants searched, she can probably make the search in about 4 rounds!

Do you need any rolls from me, here?  I'd say that Investigation might be useful, but Tristan doesn't have that, so perhaps another Earth Sciences check with an equipment bonus when he actually compares the samples?  And/or Life Sciences for the plant samples too.

Since you ask, Blarghy, then sure! Each of those is relevant, besides Investigation(which can be swapped with Notice for reviewing the surveillance feed).

Thevshi, with those kinds of numbers behind her Velocity finds a great deal. Will elaborate in GM post.

Ok.  Not sure what, if any, equipment bonus you'll allow, but I would assume that the rich-as-God Atoms (plus some help from the FCI) could afford the good gear.

Earth Sciences: 1d20+10 27

Life Sciences: 1d20+20 24

Huh.  That is the opposite of what I expected, but still hopefully good enough!

Edit: and Notice, you said?

Notice: 1d20+4 20

Notice result does gain some knowage, which will have to wait until the GM post, sorry Blarghy.

Earth and Life Sciences reveals that, somehow, the ground minerals and more stationary life forms of Halluel are being regressed. The larger bioforms are most obviously returning to "younger" states in their life-cycle, and the more complex molecules in the soil are rejecting entropy and collapsing into their more centralized forms. It's like watching frames of nature going in reverse.

I have a suspicion.

Val's gonna look at our dear bug people.  If she and Chase could hear their psychic conversation, it's entirely possible the bugs can hear the team's psychic conversation, so Val's gonna look for any signs that they're listening quietly to the psychic chatter.  After all, it's what she'd do in their situation.

Sense Motive: 1d20+10 27

Of course, even if she sees no such signs, she'd probably assume anyways.

No, Ana is waiting for the enthusiastic affirmative which is the only possible outcome that she wants to consider, that he Liberators would say anything else has not entered her darkest dreams. She's putting an enormous amount of trust on these strangers, and even if she was aware of the mental conversation she wouldn't dream of eavesdropping.

But Tek and Ak'Rohoros are evidently having some private conversation, though not on the astral plane, more likely something channeled through their technology.

Whatever it's about, Ak'Ro is stolid and loyal and Tek is urging some change in what they're doing.
