Supercape Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 OOC for this thread Non combat mystery/social thread for Flintlock and Grimalkin
Heritage Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Okay, just wanted to clarify the timing here. Gretchen was going to be following Mr Smith and/or his trail from whence he came, so I assume she would be leaving the shop to do do. Roughly how long after his departure does Flintlock appear in all her boozy beauty? I personally have no problem splitting the thread in twain if you're okay with it; besides, between her Flight and Quick Change, Gretch can reappear fairly quickly at the store if need be.
Supercape Posted April 9, 2016 Author Posted April 9, 2016 For narrative purposes, I suggest but a minute inbetween!
Supercape Posted April 25, 2016 Author Posted April 25, 2016 For the sake of a little drama, how about a DC10 Escape Artist Check for Shrike to contort through the door gap? Failure = noticed. Failure by more than 5 = noticed AND doesnt get through!
Heritage Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Oh lord, here we go.... Untrained Escape Artist roll: 1d20+2=11 http://orokos.com/roll/396005 Woo-hoo! Gretch manages to get all writhy!
Supercape Posted May 10, 2016 Author Posted May 10, 2016 Quick note - no railroading here. If you want to burn it, burrrrn ittt! Of course you may want a horrible tome of sorcery in your bookshop for future shennaingans!
Heritage Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 Ooh, I just realized I made a tactical error! Can I spend an HP to say that Lynn gave Mr. Smith a conjured business card so she can eavesdrop on him? Or that Gretchen planted a 'bug' of a similar nature when she was in his room? The latter might be easier, as it might not require an edit of a previous post.
Supercape Posted May 10, 2016 Author Posted May 10, 2016 No need for an HP. It not really a combat thread, but if you feel it warrants it, go ahead! To be honest I was vaguely thinking of Mr Smith dropping out of the picture, but this is a collaborative thing, so if you want to bring him back in, thats cool too! Whatever you want, ill roll with! Improv!
Heritage Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Okay, if you feel it's cool without an HP, I will do so; Grim will also suggest a change of venue for reading the book, which might be fun.
Heritage Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 (edited) Okay, I hope this is cool, but Lynn is suggesting they take the book to Rusty's Ranch, a bit of property her family owns in a remote corner of Jersey. It's not so far away from the shore that aquatic things can't show up, but it's safer for innocents while still having plenty of atmosphere for horrific events. Hope that works for you, or we can try something else. Not trying to hijack the thread, I swear! Edited May 11, 2016 by Heritage
Supercape Posted July 4, 2016 Author Posted July 4, 2016 So let me know if you want a Scene cut: Broadly speaking I was wondering if Grimalkin and Flintlock do the ritual, and bluff Dagon, Gretch whips off and stabs the heart. Some low PL action!
Heritage Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 I'd like a chance to set the scene at the other end of the teleport, if only for your benefit. This is definitely a time where Gretchen's flight and telepathic link will come in handy.
Supercape Posted July 9, 2016 Author Posted July 9, 2016 Putting Flintlock out of the picture for now. DC 20 Will Save please, or Shaken.
Heritage Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Here we go! Grim's roll: 1d20+10=23 She is resolute! Shrike's roll: 1d20+6=23 Wow, they really are in sync!
Heritage Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 So is Grim supposed to trick Dagon into revealing the location of his heart while Shrike flys off to destroy it? How we find out the location of the heart is the one bit I'm unsure about.
Supercape Posted August 13, 2016 Author Posted August 13, 2016 Now Dagon is summoned the heart is vulnerable. Finding it means Shrike finding / going back to the man-lizard she stalked! She may need some of that powdered faerie dust to finish the job?

Heritage Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Grrr, can't delete that quote block from my phone! Anywho, it's a good thing Gretchen dropped that 'bug' earlier, as it allows Lynn to spy on the freak! Of course, she may soon be too occupied to offer much help.
Heritage Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 So, yeah, we're actually doing this! Not sure exactly what skill rolls will vome into play, though I'm thinking at least one Bluff check will be involved. She actually has the Distract fest as well. If it works, Gretch will take the opportunity to turn invisible anf slip away. Oh, forgot to add a bit about Grim scrying on 'Mr Smith'; let me add that in.
Supercape Posted August 15, 2016 Author Posted August 15, 2016 I think that part we can hand wave. Bluffing a PL X is not really appropriate! If its ok with you, I actually suggest turning the camera on to Gretch and leaving the bluffing part to imagination?
