EternalPhoenix Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Is he asking for Dr. Samantha Carson, PhD? Or Terrifica?
Raveled Posted March 21, 2017 Author Posted March 21, 2017 The appointment is for Dr. Samantha Carson.
Raveled Posted March 23, 2017 Author Posted March 23, 2017 Quote Sam repositioned herself so that she could see past the detective, but kept her pupils on him. Nope. You can watch the detective or watch the house, you don't get to have your cake and eat it.
EternalPhoenix Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Fixed that up for you, Rav. Though I'll miss my delicious cake.
Heritage Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Wait, is Miracle Girl in this thread? I had no idea! I am so sorry.
Raveled Posted April 12, 2017 Author Posted April 12, 2017 1 hour ago, Heritage said: ...or has this story already been abandoned? The idea is that Terrifica will call in her redoubtable ward once things get moving.
EternalPhoenix Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 (edited) Well, it wasn't me whose turn it was to post. Still isn't, as it turns out. Edited April 13, 2017 by EternalPhoenix
Raveled Posted April 13, 2017 Author Posted April 13, 2017 Okay EP, what other information does Sam want to get from the cops before Teriffica makes her entrance?
EternalPhoenix Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 I've thought about this quite a bit, and the answer won't stop being "Whatever she can get without making them suspicious". I know, that's not helpful, but it's almost all I've got. I mean, actual cause of death. Who was his last visitor. Was there anyone else in the house. The kind of things the detective should already be finding out. But since she's currently in civilian mode, can't really ask that much without focusing suspicion on herself. You know what I mean? So, like I said, whatever she can get.
Raveled Posted April 17, 2017 Author Posted April 17, 2017 You already know that Arthur cleared his schedule to meet with Sam. He wanted to meet with her despite being able to meet with other people, he had something weird happening with his blood, and the police are treating his corpse like it's infectious. If she doesn't want to learn something specific I'm going to move us to the next scene.
EternalPhoenix Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 The detective's name would be nice. Might need to find him later. But other than that...yeah. Let's move on. There's only so much one can do outside of the costume.
Raveled Posted April 23, 2017 Author Posted April 23, 2017 Do you guys want to do anything else or should we cut to inside the house?
EternalPhoenix Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 Can you put what you told me in chat here? What was in the rooms? I don't quite remember it.
Raveled Posted April 28, 2017 Author Posted April 28, 2017 Every room seems to have a different theme, but each one is a collection of priceless natural and cultural artifacts. One has displays of different swords from all over the world, another has various geological samples; raw diamonds embedded in the rock matrix, a geode bigger than your fist, and a sample of fulgurite taller than you are.
Heritage Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Any kind of Notice roll needed here, or do I just describe stuff?
Raveled Posted May 1, 2017 Author Posted May 1, 2017 To make sense of the notes is going to require a Knowledge (Earth Sciences) roll. Anything else in the room is probably going to require a Search check.
Heritage Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 Knowledge: Earth Sciences (she actually has it!): 1d20+5=25 Wow, she maxed it! Search: 1d20+10=26
Raveled Posted May 2, 2017 Author Posted May 2, 2017 (edited) Going off the notes, those crystals are weird. The sketches show that their structure is very close to that of a diamond, suggesting that these gems formed under intense heat and pressure. What's more, the latticework goes in regular, consistent patterns, but there's also notes about how it bends at odd places and then continues in straight lines again. It doesn't make any sense to Miracle Girl, but to Terrifica it almost sounds like something somehow put a crease in the atomic structure of these crystals. Terrifica also notes that the dimensions for the different crystals are also consistent to within a single millimeter, but the surfaces are abraded like they've been weathered or even picked out of the ground in that shape. With those Search scores, both heroes find numerous tiny pin-prick holes in the green leather covering the working area of the desk, which move to the edge and then transition into tiny, thin scratches all along the side of the desk. With her Microscopic Vision, Miracle Girl can pick out individual threads of the carpet that have been sliced apart, almost like something with razor-sharp feet walked through the carpet and out of the room.
