EternalPhoenix
olopi's eyes only! Spoiler One of the storms is magical. Mortal magic, to be precise, though (obviously) on a scale Sha'ir hasn't seen before Link to comment
olopi
Notice: 1d20+12 30 Full bonus, you decide how much to take off of it Link to comment
EternalPhoenix
Actually, I decided to just adjust the DC you had to hit. Anyway, as before, olopi's eyes only. Spoiler The magic fueling the storm (the one, anyway) is emanating from the center. Or, as we all know it, the eye. Sha'ir is still a bit far to be anywhere near sure, but it looks like there's a person up there. That person is the source point for all the magic fueling the storm. Link to comment
Heritage
Okay, I have to admit that this thread has me a bit overwhelmed; there's so much going on and so many bad things happening that I have no idea where I should have Casey and what she should do once she gets there. Is there a roll I can make (for instance, maybe Survival) to represent her quick assessment of the situation to help me determine where to send her? Link to comment
EternalPhoenix
Sure. That's what Notice checks are for. Noticing things that need your attention. Though knowing which needs her most desperately would be Survival, yes. Link to comment
Heritage
Notice: 1d20+15=19 Survival: 1d20+5=21 Link to comment
Kolohehonu
Hey EP? How big is this island? Is it small enough that Hyperactive can take 20 on a search Check for people and check the entire island in a short amount of time? Edited May 19, 2017 by Kolohehonu Link to comment
EternalPhoenix
Heri>Well, let's see here. Most urgent would be the street market. Buildings are on the edge of collapse, and that Notice check (with MG's special eyes) reveals people crammed into a significant portion of them. When you're done with that, the lone highway to the resort has vehicles on the edge of being washed away into the sea. Endeavour helped out with one, but MG's eyes can see a few more. A third priority is preventing the larger yachts in the harbor from being thrown in land, and of course, a few of them are inhabited by people who thought they could sail away fast enough. Now go. Be heroic. Kolo>Absolutely. Don't underestimate just how much Quickness 10 ranks really is. If you'd like to check things out, see what I told Heri up above. Since this part is largely narrative, I'm not going to make you stick strictly to what you can mechanically do. I mean, if you try to do something both you and I know you can't do, I'll call you on it, but other than that. Go. Be heroic. Save some lives. Link to comment

EternalPhoenix
Allrighty. Sailor. Before you leave that inner courtyard, give me both notice and KN (tech) checks. Link to comment
The Sailor
Here's your checks: Kno(Tech): 1d20+10 30 Notice: 1d20+15 16 - Going to HP this one. Notice (HP Re-Roll): 1d20+15 34 Note that my commglasses grant me infravision. 2 HP Remaining Link to comment
EternalPhoenix
Sailor's eyes only! Spoiler The main resort building has technological devices sprouting from the rooftops and at evenly spaced points on the sides. They could be just satellite dishes and/or antennas. However, Endevour's technological expertise says that their actual purpose is manipulating atmospheric ions. Moving around heat and electric charges,. And the only reason to do that is to attempt to control the weather. Edited May 28, 2017 by EternalPhoenix Link to comment
The Sailor
Knowledge: Tech to find the source: Kno(Tech): 1d20+15 28 Also messed up, I got a +10 for Knowledge(Tech) not +15... what happens when I operate off of memory, so I got a 23. Edited May 30, 2017 by Sailor Link to comment
EternalPhoenix
You can trace the power coming from the devices to the basement. Weirdly, the power flowing through them isn't entirely electricity. It's a mysterious energy that, if you'll give me KN (phys sci) and/or (theo and philo) will be less mysterious. Link to comment
The Sailor
I'll keep her in her specialties with the Phys Sci check as she isn't a philosophy type... Knowledge (Phys Sci) +10: 1d20+10 17 That seems too low, gonna HP that one. Knowledge (Phys Sci) +10 (Hero Pointed): 1d20+10 15 As the roll was a 5, I got a 25 (15+10). Lovely thing using a HP for a skill re-roll... bad thing hero points disappear fast when you're a skill monkey. 1 Hero Point Left Link to comment
EternalPhoenix
One of the three energy types (one being electricity, as stated, the other being a mystery) bears a strong resemblance to the kind of energy someone with genetic superpowers puts out when using their powers. It's almost as if someone (with some kind of genetically given powers) is directly hooked into the system to power it. Link to comment
Kolohehonu
Question EP: I assume Hyperactive would need either super senses or some kind of equipment to hear all the radio communications right? So he has no clue what anyone is saying over radio right? Now seems a little late to ask, but this seems like something that at this point would be fairly important to know. Link to comment
EternalPhoenix
Well, yes. Unless he has something for the Waco Warriors and just so happened to be scanning the emergency radio band...but if that's what you want, then yes. Link to comment
Kolohehonu
Ok so yes, but between the wet and cold and spaciness we can say he has only now turned it on. Link to comment
Heritage
I know superhero x-ray vision must work differently than medical x-rays, because Lois Lane doesn't have cancer, but I don't know what else to call it. 'Penetrating vision' just sounds awful! Link to comment
