Supercape Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 Red Rat Noemi felt a cold grip up her spine. Did she just kill the man? No...please no! She holstered her pistols and set down to look at the man. X-Ray scan of bones...anything broken? No med kit with her, but that didn't mean she didn't have basic medical skills. Pulse, respiratory rate, capiliary refill...all easy enough to do. And a scan - despite the dust and debris - for any major trauma. Head trauma particularly! It didn't help that she felt the breath of the horde of plebs behind her, but cold calm training kicked in, and the analysis was quick and calm.
TheAbsurdist Posted January 4, 2018 Author Posted January 4, 2018 The man was out. Just completely out. But he was breathing, she could tell, and there was no overt signs of irreparable trauma. Still explosion, closed in building, and a door. He was out. So it was her, with the sounds of people getting closer, even if they were trying to figure out where they were going. A disorganized mass an just gathering against the bourgeois, SLAVE crept in, adding it's own narrative onto her. But there was no random black boxing covering anything. And there was more obvious things here, a computer. Several actually. A fridge, a garbage can, a hot plate. Well, under the debris and dust.
Supercape Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 (edited) The Red Rat The Rat cursed herself for not bringing a good quality med kit. She gave a little thump on his chest and a little slap round the face but he remained out cold. Which computer to take. Could she take any? Could she carry the man? Yes...but run from the plebs too? A griping sense of gambling hit her, and she looked at the buzzing box. She would dearly like to know its workings, but by her guess, the plebs where after that. Not her. Which means abandon the box and start sifting the debris. Not ideal, but even worse was procrastination. So, on foot again...the plan was to dump or throw the box a good half mile from here, double back, and try to sift through the mess she had made for clues. Edited January 4, 2018 by Supercape
TheAbsurdist Posted January 16, 2018 Author Posted January 16, 2018 As she made her way out, and eventually deposited the box away from her, she'd noticed that those of the horde she could see broke off, and were moving towards it, as she skipped back towards the shack. On her way back the crackled of radio happened in her ear. "RAT, IF YOU CAN HEAR ME DESTROY THE DAMNABLE BOX." The robot voice of the Doctor in her ear, the signal getting stronger the further from the box she was, until she was at the door of the shack. The sounds of the plebs no longer advancing towards her. There was an eerie stillness near the shack, but her HE round was pretty good at spooking anything that might be might out there. As she stepped to the broken door, she was face to race with a piece of weird tech in the rough shape of the hand. And then a reverberation, the world around her quavering, before she was flung black.
Supercape Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 The Red Rat "What?" This was, by her estimation, going very badly indeed. She couldn't hear a damn thing. The "good" doctor was now telling her to destroy the thing she had left behind. And she was face to face with a robot hand. Or something. She couldn't hear her own voice when she spoke. "WHAT? WHAT?" she shouted, not hearing a thing. Deafness would not even offer respite from the blathering of SLAVE. In any case, she was under attack. And she wasn't about to spare the ammunition...
TheAbsurdist Posted February 1, 2018 Author Posted February 1, 2018 It was silent. Or it was just the ringing in her ears, fortunately she knew when to get out of the way. Which was good, as whatever it was ripped apart the ground where she had been standing, and kept going in a back away from him. She could safely assume it was the man, as he was wearing the same clothes, apart from that gauntlet, backpack, and a helmet. He wheeled around towards the direction she had dodge to. Clearly going on the offensive. SLAVE, of course, was very helpful. Pure application of pristine communist superscience, not bourgeoisie pseudoscience!
Supercape Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 The Red Rat Partly as a reaction to SLAVEs arrogance, she didn't pull the trigger. Not quite yet. Not quite yet. But she was a hair's breath from doing so. "My friend, I'm going to put a couple of high density armoured piercing slugs right through you. Unless you start talking. And don't even think about blasting me with that sound wave again..." She couldn't really hear what she was saying. It probably sounded a little bit completely terrible. But she mouthed the words anyway and expelled air from her lungs. "What the hell is that box?" she demanded.
