Corinne, for her part, caught the menace from Riley, and her attention went onto him with crystalline focus.

The Brohort were not possessed of immunity to barbs however, and with Celeste's response back to Tommy caused his face to go stony, and the remainder slapped at his shoulders and back and laughed at him.  Lapping at his embarrassment like any schadenfreude empowered teen could be  They ignored Corinne's pleas, as she wasn't being very forceful on the matter.  "Ha.  Good one." Came Ryan's response to the joke.  They went beyond it a bit further and were just ignoring what Riley had said, though Ryan shrugged a bit to Celeste's earlier entreaty, as he pretty much just left Tommaso and Robert be their jackass selves, particular with the red-head's current hyena like cackle.

Corinne moves between the Next Gen and Riley, getting close enough to him, though her hand rose to grasp at his shoulder, she caught herself and let her arm drop.  "Please stop."  As she did her damnedest to defuse part of the situation that was bubbling over the fastest, or what she thought would be it.

Hannah centered herself. She was not wanting a fight, and if she thought she could get her and Corinne out of this situation without dealing with it, she would have. As it was, she wasn't going to leave her friend. Especially if she was going to have another freak out.

"Corinne's right." She said. "Let's just calm down. We don't want any faculty coming down on us, do we?" Of course, anything she did in this situation would be incredibly, outrageously obvious, to the point where even if a brawl broke out she'd probably be safe. 'we', was really just an attempt to get everyone thinking in group terms. She heard that worked sometimes. Did not look to be working here, though.

She stood up and stood behind Corinne. "This isn't our problem." She whispered "Let's just go." She hoped she'd listen, but she had a bad feeling.

Riley closed his eyes, and put the thought that he was surrounded by hostile metas on the grounds of Claremont and that he was about to be eaten alive aside. One - Two - Three. He opened his eyes and looked past Corinne to the Next-Gen girls. "You almost got people killed because you were too lazy to stop and think. You're a bunch of babies whose mommies and daddies kept you from ever skinning your goddamned knees." He pointed outside the Claremont campus, unconsciously in the direction of the Goodman Building, and home. "But that's not gonna last forever." He turned and stalked off, his shoulders and back tense, his hands shoved firmly in his pockets. He hadn't gone for his weapon and he hadn't entertained more than a passing thought about what would happen if he did. All in all, things had gone pretty well for one of these encounters. Next time I am taking Celeste's goddamned braid.

The twisted line Sofia pressed her lips into suggested she wanted to take at least one more shot at Riley as he marched off but she at least wasn't deaf to Corinne and Hannah's pleas and had enough presence of mind to remember why they'd original come over. Letting out a long breath through her nose she tossed her hair over her shoulder. "Alright. Alright, fine." Regret and annoyance mingled in her expression as - removed from an immediate argument - she was able to tell how upset the tall blonde was with the whole thing. "Sorry, Corinne. We're maybe running a little hot there. It's just-- well, it's nothing you need to worry about."

With her back temporarily to the larger group and Riley walking away no one caught the look that crossed Celeste's face at the woodsman's remark. It was subtle regardless, not exactly anger but very still and somehow a little bit alien around the eyes, cold and porcelain. The winged girl was usually more than happy to relate her origins but even the same person asking twice was unlikely to receive the same answer. Wether she took issue with the comment about parents, accusations of negligence or the suggestion of a guarded childhood would have been anyone's guess.

Instead the look quickly passed and she turned back to the Brohort with a self-assured smile. "I'm sure we can all agree the moment's passed. Right, boys?" She addressed the group but made eye contact only with Ryan, continuing to quietly single him out for reasons that remained her own. "I'm sure you have laundry that needs seeing to and we wouldn't want to keep you."

Corinne let out a slow breath as she closed her eyes, her shoulders sinking as she sighed softly.  Whatever was happening around ceased, and a hand rose up to touch the pocket on the front of her overalls, and slip a finger in to idly stroke at her Percival. Something to let her thoughts drift back from that tense situation.  She ducked her head and made some gentle noises at Percival, before she responded to Sofia.  "It's okay, nothing happened, and that's the important th-"  And then a hand fell onto her shoulder, as she had turned to Sofia and then rest of the girls.

It was Tommy, who picked the wrong to moment that a girl was upset, as he had a look of concern that faded all too quickly.

It was like slow motion, as her eyes widened, and became apertures of light.  "Let.  Go.  Of.  Me."  She wheeled onto Tommy, her eyes narrowing as she stepped towards him.

Robert stepped in, only for Ryan to wrap his arms around his bro's waist, and pulled him from the conflict.  Tommy, looked right into Corinne's face, and thought that whatever had hoped to gain simply wasn't much, and he backpedaled, then turned to join Ryan and Robert, while the smaller one carried the larger red head without issue.
