Dr Archeville Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Active Characters, Heroic and Villainous (as of May 11th, 2009) Arrowhawk: Bowman-esque vigilante, who has a broader range of skills than Bowman but is not as proficient with them as the Freedom Leaguer. And his identity is a secret, a semi-necessity for his street-cleaning operations. Avenger: A dark, gritty vigilante primarily active in the Fens and on the South Side, working hard to clean up the grimmest areas of Freedom City via sheer human courage, bravery, and training. At least, that's what he wants you to think. And why would someone lie about that? Belphegor, Artisan of Hell: Art-loving prideful greedy demon. Mostly works as muscle for other mystics, due to a lack of true arcane knowledge, though he does know a surprising amount about art & history. Captain Knievel: Truly the manliest man that ever lived. Some say that he survived a fall from an airplane, using only his force of personality to slow his decent. Strong as an ox and quick as a fox, The Captain is one BAMF, and collateral damage is his middle name! He true identity is a secret, and it needs to be for all of the crazy s*** he gets himself into. Dark Star: Living embodiment of a dark star; and inexperienced but dedicated hero. Doktor Archeville: Eccentric Gadgeteer (Mad Scientist) hero, though at times he has all the cackling and haughtiness of a mad scientist supervillain. Is it really all just an act to keep folks off-guard? Worked as a superhero in and around Germany for several years before moving to Freedom City, where he’s still working on making a name for himself. Ember Paw: Young and inexperienced Irish "werefox" working on cultivating his power and his cunning. Geckoman: Slacker teen who stumbled upon some mad scientist's tech and uses it for heroic stuff. An accidental injection mutated him to give some reptilian characteristics The Ghost: Incredibly lucky “B&E†man, infamous for his ability to get into any secured locale. If the price is right, of course. Twilight Gryphon: winged mutant and medical student operating in Freedom City. Malice: Metahuman-hating human genius in a home-made Battlesuit. Has a rivalry with other tech-heads, but really hates superhumans who were unfairly gifted with their powers. Calvin Parker: Teenage Streetmage operating in Freedom's Riverside district. Quark: Young and (very) enthusiastic inventor/tech-head. Recently hired by the Claremont Academy's science department. The Scarab II: Few know that the gold-&-scarlet-clad psychic vigilante known as The Scarab is secretly freelance legal consultant and "self-made millionaire" Elena Guerrero. Fewer still know that she is the latest reincarnation of Prince Heru-Ra, hero of ancient Egypt, who last walked the Earth 30 years ago as Alexander Rhodes, the first Scarab and founder of the Rhodes Foundation. Shadow Man: Lost and confused heroic teen with a curious little extra-dimensional shadowy friend. The Spartan: Aristodemus of Sparta, one of two to have survived the Battle of Thermopylae, berserker of Plataea, granted immortality by the gods and simultaneously exiled from his home. Has partaken in countless combats of all sizes over the millennia, and has fought with & for honor & glory. Tarantula: Spider-y heroine (with psychic webs!), fighting for freedom (for both the general public and for herself). Wesley Knight: Extremely powerful and versatile biokinetic who's come to Freedom City to learn more about what he can do. Original discussion thread is here. Please post requests for additions and edits in that thread.

Dr Archeville Posted November 29, 2008 Author Posted November 29, 2008 Inactive/Retired Characters (as of May 11th, 2009) Aaron Shui: Asian-American Water Manipulator, thanks to the dragon bonded to him. Hero. Archangel: An angel here to protect and defend wherever aid is needed. Heroine. Army of One: The man about town, who indeed can be all about town. Badb: Battle-loving Warrior with a few tricks (Radiation Control, Flight) up her sleeve. Villainess. Blue Blaster: Mind-reading Shapeshifting son of a retired Gadgeteer. Hero. Bounce: Heart of gold, body of rubber, combined into a joyous Hero. Captain Communist: Shield-wielding super-soldier seeking to bring about the return of the glorious Communist ways. Villain. Captain Wonder: Veteran Paragon, used to the big league, fought in WWII, recently out retirement. His connection to the Egyptian Pantheon could discourage or might draw out mystical/mythological foes while old wartime troubles might seek him out as well. Apart from that he's well known as something of a classic hero, and not just because of having been active back in those days. Hero. Capricia Chill: Mafia Ice Princess, literally: a ruthless Cold Manipulator. Villainess. Catherine Kato: Donut-loving heroic Street-Mage. Heroine. Collateral: Selfish Magnetic Manipulator villain. Villain. Colt: Agent of UNISON. Likes firearms, and other utility belt items (but really likes his guns). Hero. Contour: Native American astronomer and heir to the magnetic powers of a former hero. Cory Devlin: Irish Cold Manipulator out for his own monetary well-being. Superhumanly agile, too. Villain. Divine: Earthbound Goddess trying to have some fun and help people in the process. Heroine. Dryad: Crazed psychopathic sociopathic plant-woman. Electrolash: Genius inventor, Cy-Bit's younger brother and partner in heroism. Emmissary: Very active, public face, could be said to be something of a posterboy. Not too much is needed to get Emmissary to at least try his utmost (which is rather a lot) to do what is right and good. Entropy: Young girl with the essences of three sorcerers from the Terminus embedded in her soul, which lets her use their mystical powers for good. Sister of Dead Boy. Exile: Former God-King/Dark Lord of another dimension, beaten and exiled to the Zero Zone. Now he's on Earth-Prime, in the guise of an old and reclusive bookworm. Villain. Gossamer: Intelligent, friendly, approachable (if a tad vain) Heroine with Prehensile Hair. Maximus Grey: Medieval-styled mastermind out to build an army... but for what? Villain. Grimalkin: A tricky one who’s been on both sides of the law. Currently fights on the side of heroes after having had witnessed some woefully indifferent police. Heroine. Echi Haimura: A wealthy, yet angry young girl who has lost her sight. Heroine. Hellbound: Dirty fighter who bench presses engine blocks and bleeds fire. Hub: Quiet Booster who prefers to help others do their thing, and not take any space in the spotlight. Hero. Icarus: Villainous Gravity Manipulating (son? clone? brother?) of Daedalus. Works for/with Talos. Villain, mostly. Imposter: Playful master of disguise from Claremont Academy. Hero. Ionica: Very strong and tough woman made of 'solid' energy. Somewhat simple-minded, but her heart seems to be in the right place. Heroine. Ironhide: Thug with a super-dense iron body. He can also fly. Villain. Karma: A mutant with the ability to manipulate chance--things are always more likely to turn out well when she's around. Heroine. The Legionnaire: Time-tossed Roman Warrior. Berserk rages and “older morals†made him unpopular with the hero crowd, and now he’s turned on them. Considers himself a Hero. Leviathan: Chivalrous hydrokinetic teen, and one of Claremont's newest students. Hero. Lullaby: Talented singer with a magical voice and a magical dress. Strives to bring harmony to the world. Depressed Heroine. Maelstrom: Air-controlling thug who can also turn into a gaseous form. Villain. Maggot: Collective-like collective of maggots, housing the mind of a very confused and traumatized high school-aged girl. ManBat: Half man, half bat, all Hero. Mongrel Angel: Angel- and demon-blooded soulfire-wielding winged beauty. Seems to be a hero, though appears to be doing it just for kicks. Dashel Mason: Private Investigator with a lucky streak, operating out of Southside. Hero. Mystic Raven: Mysterious magician, trained in a place unknown, whose motives seem to be her own; most commonly goes by just "Raven". Heroine. Nanowire: An inorganic lifeform, Nanowire has been looking for a cure to his condition for some time. More recently, his relationship with Grimalkin has him questioning his life choices, and is on the verge of transformation from Villain to Hero. Neo-Knight: Last descendant of Arthur Pendragon, and modern wielder of Excalibur. Works to honor the ideals of Camelot, namely Justice. Hero. Nightshyft: Heir to the Midnight mantle, he is an exquisite martial artist, detective, and sneak. Hero. The Norseman: A giant of a man, connected to the Norse Pantheon. Unlike Captain Wonder (with whom he has a friendly rivalry), his connection is in the form of the artifacts he wields in their name. Hero. Panthera: Vietnamese Martial Artist, with a touch of Speedster. She’s a master of Pao Pet Mei, Leopard Style kung fu. Most often seen around the Chinatown areas. Heroine. Poltergesit: Inexperienced Darkness Manipulator attending the Claremont Academy. Transferred from Bulgaria; her parents thought she’d be safer in Freedom City. Heroine. Psi: Armless mercenary Psychic who’s possibly borderline psychotic. Villainess. Raindance: Weather Controller from the Claremont Academy. Hero. Reflexion: Serious-minded Martial Artist with “photographic reflexes.†An escaped agent/experiment of The Labyrinth. Hero. Kerrik Reyson: The rough and tumble red-skinned wrestler. Always on the look out for a good fight and a way to clean up the streets. With six arms and a tail, he can beat anyone at climbing a skyscraper. No secrets here. Even if he could put away his extra limbs and change the color of his skin he probably wouldn't, so Kerrik has no use for other names and faces. Hero. Ronin: Hyper-aggressive, schizophrenic, mercenary super-soldier with a Big Frakin’ Gun. Villain. Rusty Nail: Jovial Size Manipulated/Shrunk (five inches tall) crimefighter, though he has a bit of a temper ("Joe Pesci Syndrome"). Hero. Sanctis: An emissary from the old gods bent on ushering in a new Stone Age. Sen: Samurai-like Weapon-Master, of an ancient demon hunting clan, seeking clues to his father’s whereabouts. Hero. Sentry: Android 'son' of Daedalus and Galataea. Hero. Shade: Darkness-manipulating vigilante seeking to bring light to the streets and alleys. Hero. Spectrum: Dedicated Light Manipulator, here to protect and serve. Hero. Strygwyr the Bloodseeker: Ravaging Demon/Atlantean hybrid. Gets temporarily stronger & tougher every time he kills; also has some dark druidic/nature magic. Villain. Super-Thug: Paragon-in-the-Works for Criminals. Villain. Synapse: Fabulously wealthy psi from an "old money" family who realized hard times can fall on anyone, rich or poor, and uses his abilities to help all in need. Hero. Twister: Self-centered Spinner who’s murdering his way up to become one of FC’s wealthy elites. Villain. Velocity: Near-omnipresent Speedster, though few seem to mind since she’s such a knockout. Young, bright, and very eager heroine. Vigor: Inhumanly resilient bodyguard-for-hire. Can drink anyone under the table. Hero. Void: Appears to be a young girl, but she was created ex nihilo in/from the Zero Zone by some unknown Creator. Now she’s seeking him out, and will do anything to find him. Villainess. Watcher: Penta-Mimic with X-Ray eyes; can mimic the powers and abilities of up to five people. Hero. Wildcard: Clown-themed vigilante who's having the time of his life beating up on crooks. He knows he shares his name with a member of the Crime League, but that's the kind of risk-taker he is! Hero.
