olopi
Jann carefully put Flare onto the ground, before sitting down. Standing also exerted his body, and with the state of his arms right now, his legs were more important than ever. From there, he watched. He was not one for negotiation, he would leave that part to somebody more accustomed to it. Then, she mentioned the way of delivery, and there he interjected. “Either powder or without any visible part, likely mental. Cannot say, but may have experienced it earlier. Grenades, uncertain if they are part of it or were at the same place at the same time. If mentally there will be no easy way of doing it, effect too powerful. “ “And he still has a large amount of fanatical followers. May need bigger guns than we have.” Link to comment
EviscerusNox
"Don't give me the "oh woe is me" schtick. You may have had a bad break but you sold guns to murderers. My sympathy only goes so far in the case of those who are accomplice to killing innocents. That being said, I do know some people with possible connections who could get you what you need in or out of prison, maybe. I ain't without a heart darlin'. So I'll promise ya this: I won't just let ya die okay?" Max really was at a loss on what to do with Snowbird, despite his bravado. On one hand, she was a criminal, on the other, if she was telling the truth, turning her over would mean killing her. Could he do that? Could he sentence a woman to death like that? His gut reaction was that he needed more information to make the right decision but he knew, deep down, that no amount of information would make that decision easier, or righter. Listening to Jann's experience did make it seem like it was a possible mental attack. Spitfire didn't remember seeing any explosives go off, other than the bag he jumped on top of. "Great, so a super powerful psychic who turns anyone he wants into junkies looking to do anything for a fix? That's not at all disconcerting. How do we get close to someone like that? How do we defend against it? I may be over estimating him, but it's better to think worse case scenario and be wrong then assume a cake walk." For the first time of the night Max was at a loss on what to do next. He wasn't even sure what to do with the bad guys he already had captured, let alone how to defeat the one behind all this. Max took a step back, slumping slightly, frustrated and feeling outclassed. What am I gonna do? He thought desparately. Link to comment
Supercape
GM "You ain't over estimating him, darling" replied Snowbird. "He scares me to hell and back. You understand how he works, right?" she said with a shudder. "He can get anyone under his spell with enough time. I think the gangs, they are just his.." she paused and shuddered again "...experiment...." She tried to get a grip on her anxiety. "I think he has bigger plans. Those guns must be for something more than just thrill seeking street gangs. Beats me what he wanted them for, but I...look, he's not the kind of guy you say no to, right? I don't want to get zapped with his crack" she said adamantly. "If he didn't scare me so much, I'd help you take him down myself..." she conceded. "And so would my partner". Link to comment
EviscerusNox
Max thought on that for a second. If Snowbird and Flare called the all clear, maybe brought one of them in to this Happy Man as a hostage they could get the drop on him and lay him down before he could put whatever whammy he puts on people. This would of course require them to have some trust in the two very mercenary people who have admitted being scared of this Happy Man. Though if it possibly bought them their freedom it might be a fair trade to them. Max turned to Jann and said in a hushed tone. "She has a point, if they can help us, get us close to the guy, we might get the drop on him and end this. That means letting these two free though and I don't know how I, or you, might feel about that. I'm willing to let them walk if they promise to never come back after this, but it's up to you." olopi
Jann responded in the same tone, doing his best to match the volume. “Have no problems with their help, but am concerned about their description. “ He got back up, took a few steps around while trying to work out a proper sentence, then spoke, this time at a speaking volume. “All of us are injured and have been exhausted. Means we will need to be even more careful and lucky, and is very risky. Possibly too risky, as a single mistake could lead to long-term problems. May have to let this go for now and figure out a better method of approach. Gain a chance to surprise him, and have all the strength we need to neutralize him before he manages to cause serious harm. Watch him and strike when the situation presents itself. “ With that, he finished. He remained upright, ready to respond should anybody have anything more to add. But at this point, he did not see any benefit in acting immediately that was not outclassed by the drawbacks. Link to comment
EviscerusNox
Max wasn't known for his ability to patiently think about a problem and come up with a grand solution. He was always more of the rush in type, not think about it and rely on his skills and luck to see him through. However, he did see Jann's point and now that his heartbeat had slowed and adrenaline wasn't pumping through his endocrine system he was bone tired, he was even finding it hard to think. Max wasn't even sure if he could make it home without passing out, let alone escorting these two to a precinct first. "Damnit all yer right, Tweety. Ain't none of us in a condition to take on this guy right now. Best to sleep on it, heal up, and get some intel." Max looked over to the two girls and frowned, thinking as furiously as his sluggish brain would allow. "These two are a pain in the ass but, I can't in good conscience send Elsa here to her death, and Red was just tryin' to help a friend. They are misguided. Maybe dangerous, but I don't think they're necessarily bad people. How do you feel about sendin' them off with a stern warning? Maybe they change their ways? Help us later maybe?" Link to comment
olopi
“Have no objections, having more allies helps more than sending them away. “ Jann did not see a reason to turn them over to the guardians. Not that he did in most cases, it was just what he’d been taught by the academy more recently. Usually he just let them get taken away once he’d finished at a place. “May also know more about how to track him, or be able to provide additional resources.“ Link to comment
Supercape
GM "Wow! You are really letting us go?" blabbed Snowbird. "I mean...I mean....damn right! of course you are letting us go. It's the darn gosh darn it right thing to do! Good on you, pals!" she blustered in full rewind. She stood up and dusted off her cape, still bruised and battered but at least able to stand. "I'll just pick up my pal here..." she said, looking at Bird of Arms and Spitfire and not quite believing her luck. Seeing no objection, she easily scooped up Flare and hauled her over her soldier. "And I'll be off before the cops ask questions and you know, arrest us and stuff. You are both darlings!" she added, blowing them both kisses and giving a wink to Bird of Arms. "You know, seriously, if you ever need our help, we will repay it. We may run high tech weaponry to gangs and stuff, but, you know, if you look past that, we are good guys, like really!" she added. "Ill post some Curveball Cannons to you all as way of thanks!" she said as she walked out... ~ Fin ~ But continued in... Edited December 21, 2017 by Supercape Link to comment
